If there's one comment I get from clients regularly, it's that I set them at ease, which makes me very happy. Telling stories through images is one of my favorite things to do. It must show.
I trained as a photographer at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. There, I learned the technical side of working with a camera: lighting, darkroom, post-processing of images, etc. After that, I worked as a second shooter and photo assistant for a few years with Tammy Hanratty whose work with light really inspired me. She gave me a chance to develop my own style. In 2008, I started shooting weddings, portraits and stock photos in Canmore, Alberta which kept me busy full time as the Rocky Mountains are a wedding and holiday destination.
In 2012, I moved home to Nova Scotia. I love the coastal landscape and all the gorgeous parks near my home in Dartmouth. Whenever possible, I shoot outside in natural light. That way I can peek out from a shrub or behind a tree trunk (like a fairy, as someone recently said) and get you laughing.
