About the Snickerdoodle style:
I love natural light so if you want to be outside - tying the knot, walking your dog, fishing, canoeing, sailing, or just hanging out in your back yard - I'm your photographer. I will wade through water, thwack through shrubs and climb the occasional tree to keep up with you. Sessions are relaxed and I do my best to set you at ease in front of the camera. Oh and I love kids and animals. Bring your dog (or your cat, bird, rabbit) along.
I want your photographs to be timeless so I finish images to look natural, with cosmetic retouching where requested. Get a blemish the day before your session? Don't worry.
I am the primary photographer on all jobs, though I often have a second photographer/assistant for larger weddings.
Snickerdoodle started out in 2006 as a digital design business but in 2008 I decided to specialize in portraiture and weddings. I completed a photography certificate through SAIT and worked as a photography assistant (and second photographer) to get experience working on location.
Originally from Nova Scotia, we lived in Alberta for 15 years (that explains all those mountain photos you see on the website). We moved to Dartmouth in 2013 and are happily living near our families and the sea once again. We have a little boy now, who has been fully documented by my camera since the moment of his birth.
About the name:
Snickerdoodles are delicious little cookies, rolled in cinnamon that melt in the mouth. I've loved them since childhood and I've always enjoyed their whimsical name too. It was one of my more flattering nicknames growing up because I liked the cookie and of course, there is a "nick "in snickerdoodle.
Give me a little notice and I'll bring along a tin of cookies for you to try.
